Job Summary:
Genesis Consulting has an opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking Data Architect with a passion for growth and business transformation for a statewide government client. This role will be responsible for outlining the data requirements creating data architecture and creating data documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement an overarching data strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data architecture solutions.
• Design and implement logical and physical data models to support application development and business intelligence needs.
• Ensure data models are optimized for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security are maintained throughout the data lifecycle.
• Design data integration processes to facilitate the seamless flow of data between systems.
• Identify security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture and database designs.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide knowledge transfer to client and team members.
• Defining how systems should be maintained, including tools to be used for monitoring, thresholds, and runbooks, and actively working on refining on-call practices.
• Leading multi-functional teams made up of analysts, developers, data scientists, and other roles that are needed to support business needs.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
• Proven experience as a Data Architect, Database Administrator, or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling tools and techniques.
• Expertise in relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Familiarity with big data technologies and data warehousing.
• Shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in enterprise data architecture and management the Information Technology field
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices, with practical experience in data modeling, schema design, and data warehouse architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with data security, privacy, and compliance standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Shall have experience leading and architecting enterprise-wide initiatives, specifically system integration, data warehouse build, data mart build, data lakes, etc. for a large enterprise.
Minimum Education:
• Bachelors' degree in data science, engineering, statistics or similar
Required Certifications:
• Technical software development, platform or solution certifications are a plus.
Other:
• Local to Tallahassee FL candidates preferred; Remote candidates will be considered with regular travel to FL.
• US Citizens Preferred but Green Card candidates considered.
