Job Summary

We are looking for a Power BI Analyst who will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports supporting Business Intelligence using Microsoft Power BI. Here you will analyze data to create Executive level key reports to help drive our innovative initiatives within hospitality.
You are a creative thinker who understands user interface design and melds visualizations skills such as user experience design, data visualization and graphical design.
You are responsible for providing business stakeholders with fact-based decision-making results, enabling them to quickly make changes, as appropriate, that may affect diverse areas.
You are a team player with a positive attitude, collaborative mindset and excellent interpersonal and motivational skills, who can work well with technical and non-technical staff across numerous areas. The candidate should also be able to manage competing priorities through effective communication and time management skills.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate ad-hoc requests into re-usable data products that scale to answer larger questions
  • Partner with stakeholders to help guide and understand their analytical thought process
  • Develop robust data visualization products that clearly communicate ideas
  • Define and owns metrics that capture the spirit of business objectives as closely as possible
  • Work with business stakeholders and other analysts to maintain the consistency and reliability of the data warehouse
  • Boil technical findings down into business recommendations
  • Work with business stakeholders to drive business results

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and 3+ years of professional experience as a BI Analyst
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences
  • Experience with Cloud service and infrastructure particularly Azure cloud services such as Data Factory, BLOB, Azure Function and Logic Apps, and general administration.
  • Experience writing & validating complex SQL queries, stored procedures.
  • Experience writing & validating complex DAX statements within Power BI
  • Experience with ETL automation, processes, and Data manipulation scripting such as with Power Shell scripting or Python.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • 3+ years building tailored Power BI visualizations and defining required supporting data architecture (e.g., data marts).
  • Experience collaborating with both business and IT partners to identify key use cases and define associated requirements.
  • Provide thought leadership, best practices, and standards required to deliver effective and sustainable solutions to clients.
  • Strong attention to detail, coupled with a deep bias to action and a healthy dose of pragmatism
  • Experience gathering requirements and talking to users
  • Familiarity with basic design concepts & common dashboard development patterns
  • Proven ability to execute on projects quickly; get things done mentality
  • Unabashed question asker; willing to learn anything needed to get things done

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of Business Intelligence experience in a professional setting
  • Proficiency with SQL, including relational database experience
  • Proficiency with Power BI and data visualization
  • Experience with ETL processes, automation, and scripting
  • Experience with Cloud technologies such as Azure services a plus
