POSITION PURPOSE:
The Social Media Intern will support the Sr. Manager of Social & Activations in executing and our social media engagement and execution. The Intern will play a key role in assisting with content creation, platform management, maximizing community & campaign engagement. They will gain experience in social media marketing strategy, campaign execution, and how social media drives business results in a national restaurant brand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Content Creation: Shoot, edit, and produce short-form videos, photos, and graphics to support El Pollo Loco menu tests, launches, and Let's Get Loco culture and community
  • Platform Management: Work with the Social Media Manager on post and platform optimization and maintenance
  • Community Engagement: Work with Social Media Manager on monitoring comments and messages to interact with followers and third-party profiles and foster community
  • Campaign, Giveaway & Activation Support: Assist with integrated marketing campaigns, concepting, planning and executing giveaways and social activations, including coordination, legal compliance, prize fulfillment, and more
  • Research & Tactics: share trending topics, audio, hashtags, and competitor strategies to improve social media tactics
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track social media performance metrics

INTERN WILL LEARN:
  • Building blocks of social content strategy, community management, brand voice, activations, and more
  • Social content creation best practices and efficiencies
  • Agency relations and workflow, including briefings, creative review, activation planning, etc.
  • How to interpret analytics in relation to KPIs and strategy
  • Vendor and influencer relations best practices
  • Customer service and legal integration of social campaigns

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Education/Work Experience:
  • Undergraduate student, college seniors, or recent college graduate (within the last 12 months).
  • Must be actively enrolled or recently graduated from a degree program in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Chronically online with a passion, keen eye and intuitive knack for social trends, building an engaged social community, what's about-to-be cool, and lover of food
  • Knowledge of basic social media marketing concepts, including branding, content creation, social platforms, community engagement, influencers, activations, brand partnership, giveaways, PR, etc.
  • Ability to work well in a team, contributing to a collaborative environment while also being accountable and able to work independently and resourcefully
  • Strong and clear communication and organization abilities
  • Motivated to take on new initiatives with ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines

The pay range identified is the hourly or salary rate El Pollo Loco expects to pay for the posted position. This range does not include any benefits or bonus opportunities that might be available for the position based on position and eligibility criteria. At El Pollo Loco, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range. Individual pay decisions will vary based on a variety of factors including years of experience, industry experience, education, geography, etc.
