The Board of Education of Green Local Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Treasurer. The Board is committed to identifying a collaborative and forward-thinking fiscal leader who will serve as a strategic partner to the Superintendent and Board, while maintaining a strong focus on fiscal stewardship, transparency, and operational excellence.

Position Overview
The Treasurer serves as the Chief Fiscal Officer of the District and is responsible for the financial leadership and oversight of all district operations. This individual will play a critical role in long-term financial planning, day-to-day fiscal management, and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the fiscal agent and steward of all district funds, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency
  • Collaborate with the Board and Superintendent on annual appropriations and the five-year financial forecast
  • Maintain all financial records in accordance with Ohio law and Auditor of State requirements
  • Prepare, review, and certify all required financial reports to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to improve financial operations and district efficiency
  • Supervise and evaluate all personnel within the Treasurer's Office, including EMIS functions
  • Serve as Secretary to the Board of Education, including preparation of board agendas, minutes, and required legal notices
  • Oversee district cash management, investments, and deposits in compliance with applicable laws
  • Manage employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, and retirement-related functions
  • Coordinate and support all audit functions, ensuring strong internal controls and regulatory compliance
  • Support Business and Finance Committee work aligned to the district's strategic priorities
  • Manage risk, insurance programs, and required bonding for district leadership

Qualifications
  • Valid Ohio Treasurer's License required
  • Prior experience as a Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
    • School finance and governmental accounting
    • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
    • State and federal compliance requirements
    • Board governance and public sector operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations
  • Must successfully pass required BCI/FBI background checks

COMPENSATION
The Board of Education will offer a competitive multi-year contract. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and leadership background.
