Flexible schedule at 30 hours per week (Between the hours of 8am- 6:30 pm Mon-Fri; weekend options may be available)

General Description 

Provide massage services to Duke Integrative Medicine and Duke Health and Medical Fitness Center.

Duke Integrative Medicine, a multidisciplinary clinic that takes a whole-person, patient-centered approach to healthcare, is seeking a Massage and Bodywork Therapist for their dynamic clinical environment. This position will be shared with Duke Health and Fitness Center, a full service, state of the art Medical fitness facility on the same Center for Living campus.

Candidate should value the mind-body connection, be passionate about helping to promote optimal wellness of body and mind, be comfortable with patients who have complex medical conditions and skilled in collaborating with a team approach to care. The ideal candidate would have additional training in areas such as oncology massage, lymphatic massage and cupping.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

• Provide massage services to Duke Integrative Medicine and Duke Health and Medical Fitness Center Clients; provide safe, appropriate, and effective massage techniques.
• Perform health history on clients and update prior to each session; ascertain precautions/contradictions for massage prior to each session.
• Explain procedures and apply techniques appropriate to client needs and preferences.
• Observe client reaction to massage and modify, as necessary. Solicit feedback and respond accordingly.
• Document all sessions performed according to established guidelines
• Maintain client confidentiality and sensitivity to age and gender related issues during all client interactions; report any unusual client interactions to supervisor immediately.
• Consult with appropriate treatment staff regarding treatment plans when necessary.
• Provide massage orientation services, education seminars and market massage services upon request.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Graduate of an accredited school of massage. Current North Carolina Massage License.

Work requires a minimum of one year experience providing massage services.
