DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (SharePoint) for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard IT Support Services contract. NNSY's mission is to safely return warships to the Fleet on time and within budget.The Systems Administrator (SharePoint) will support the administration, maintenance, and operation of SharePoint Server environments. This role supports enterprise collaboration and content management capabilities through secure, reliable SharePoint On-Premises and hybrid environments.
This position is fully on-site.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Systems Administrator's (SharePoint) experience may include the following:
SharePoint Server Administration
- Configuring, managing, and maintaining SharePoint Server (2016/2019) environments.
- Administering web applications, site collections, content databases, and service applications.
- Managing user permissions, Active Directory group integration, and SharePoint security policies.
- Implementing and maintaining governance policies, backup and recovery plans, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Administering and optimizing Central Administration, Search Service Application, User Profile Service, and Managed Metadata Services.
- Supporting and managing migrations between SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online using tools such as SPMT, ShareGate, or Metalogix.
System Maintenance & Monitoring
- Performing routine system health checks and applying patches, Cumulative Updates (CUs), and Service Packs (SPs).
- Monitoring system performance, reviewing logs, and responding to alerts or issues affecting SharePoint availability or performance.
- Collaborating with infrastructure teams to support Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server configurations related to SharePoint.
Troubleshooting and Support
- Investigating and resolving SharePoint errors, performance issues, and service disruptions.
- Providing Tier II/III support to end users and site owners for SharePoint-related issues.
- Maintaining documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidance.
Deployment & Configuration
- Deploying and configuring custom or third-party SharePoint solutions, features, and web parts.
- Supporting solution lifecycle management across development, test, and production environments.
- Assisting with SharePoint migrations and upgrades between versions or environments.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearance required.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering) with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience administering SharePoint Server, including at least three (3) years of specialized experience managing, configuring, and supporting SharePoint On-Premises environments.
- Or Level II Certification (Security+ or better) with seven (7) years of relevant experience as described above.
- Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator
- CompTIA Security+
