Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, this individual will lead the strategic recruitment efforts for all Graduate Programs at the Dominican University of California. The Director is responsible for managing and leading a Graduate counseling team, coordinating the development of an annual graduate recruitment plan, organizing and implementing recruitment strategies, developing program-specific communication plans, working with marketing to develop targeted advertising campaigns, and representing Dominican in the community. The Director works collaboratively with deans, faculty program directors, academic advisors, Director of Undergraduate Admissions & Admissions Operations, admissions operations, financial aid, and the VP of Enrollment Management & Marketing to set and meet annual enrollment goals for new students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop an annual Strategic Plan for Graduate Admissions that focuses efforts on California and international enrollment.
- Lead strategies to grow pipeline in the graduate admissions candidate pool.
- Manage the enrollment funnel and direct Graduate Counselors on effective recruitment and yield strategies.
- Plan Fall and Spring travel, focusing on the expansion of the Dominican brand in the Bay Area and beyond.
- Research and propose new viable graduate enrollment markets.
- Meet or exceed enrollment goals from inquiry to matriculation for each graduate program.
- Supervise graduate admission counselors, providing direction and ongoing training to assist them in meeting their individual enrollment goals.
- Manage the graduate travel and promotions budget.
- Work closely with the marketing and communications staff to create strategic communication and content plans, develop individual communications by counselor and by program, and assist in the development of a social media strategy for Graduate Admissions.
- Work with Admissions Operations and Program Directors to ensure efficiency and timeliness of application processing and review flow.
- Work closely with the Global Education Office, ELS Centers in the Bay Area, and ELS agents, on strategic international recruitment.
- Collaborate with Alumni Relations to engage former students in recruitment efforts.
- Initiate and maintain business outreach contacts for employers and community groups.
- Work with alumni, faculty, and staff to identify influencers for recruitment purposes.
- Participate in professional conferences and seminars in order to enhance leadership development and your knowledge of best practices. Maintain membership in BAGAP and NAGAP.

- Bachelors Degree.
- Five to ten (5 - 10) years of experience in Admissions with at least 5 in Graduate Admissions and preferably 2-5 in management of a graduate admissions office.
- Supervisory experience of counseling staff and student workers.
- Proven track record of successful student recruitment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering persuasive presentations to prospective students, faculty, and community organizations.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to maintain collaborative professional relationships with faculty and staff colleagues.
- Current driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and respond successfully as needed in a time-sensitive environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends for information sessions, overnight travel to universities, and orientation programs.
Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree.
Experience developing community and business outreach programs. Experience with Slate software or other admissions/student information systems.
