CWT Global Supplier Management manages CWT's relationships with air and ground travel suppliers on local, regional and global levels in order to drive value both for our clients as well as for the suppliers themselves and CWT.

 

Position overview

 

The Supplier Management team is seeking a highly motivated, relationship-driven individual with experience in the Meetings & Events industry, specifically working with hotel suppliers (experience also working with DMC suppliers is ideal) on contract negotiations, sourcing, and account management.

 

Position Description

  • Negotiate and manage CWT Meetings and Events preferred supplier agreements and related client solutions with the goal of maximizing revenue with CWT's preferred partners
  • Lead and establish preferred supplier list creation and selection process, including coverage analysis on destination and type
  • Partner with operations & technical teams to ensure tools are configured appropriately to capture appropriate data in support of supplier analysis, to forecast performance, and enhance supplier account reviews
  • Perform data analysis to determine opportunities for incremental revenue opportunities via additional preferred suppliers or enhanced contract terms
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to build strategies to shift meetings volume to preferred suppliers, including performance data & scorecards to identify opportunities within the operations teams/clients
  • Create and execute awareness & communication campaigns for preferred supplier programs and industry trends
  • Work with internal partners (Global Supply Management, RoomIt, etc) to ensure Meetings and Events supplier strategy ties to overall CWT supply strategies
  • Liaise and strategize with Client outsourced Supplier Manager roles to align preferred strategies where possible
  • Interact with Finance staff in projecting override and contract-based revenues
  • Develop incentives and contests designed to drive revenues towards preferred suppliers
  • Contributes in elevating CWT Meetings and Events' supplier management value proposition
  • Support the Operations teams in destination education & hosted buyer opportunities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required 
  • 2 years meetings and event/travel supplier experience desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of business/consulting/project management experience
  • 2 years of experience working with large global accounts
  • Excel and Powerpoint skills required
  • Data Analysis and Contract Modeling knowledge required
  • Knowledge of Travel industry terms (Average Daily Rate, Yield, etc)
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build strong business relationships
  • Strong data analysis skills, particularly around travel data
  • Ability to develop marketing and communications campaigns
  • Ability to determine priorities while working under pressure or meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to recognize problems and work quickly towards solutions
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
