Job Summary

Brick Lane has an immediate need for an exciting job opportunity as a Temporary Maintenance Technician for our beautiful apartment community. This is full-time and non-exempt (hourly) position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Maintain and manage shop inventory

· Complete work orders at the delegation of the Lead Technician and Property Manager

· Ensure that the maintenance staff is performing within the guidelines of Brick Lane’s Policies, Procedures, and Conduct Policy.

· Complete work orders of various types including, but not limited to: General apartment maintenance experience, appliance repair, light carpentry, plumbing, and electrical knowledge.

· Understanding of safety protocol, procedures, safety consciousness, steady and dependable, and the ability to work with the pressure of deadlines.

· Respond to after-hours on-call emergencies on a rotating basis with the rest of the staff.

· Ability to conduct Groundskeeping/porter duties in addition to general/preventive maintenance

· Other duties as assigned by Property Manager/Lead Technician.

A. Education

· High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus

· Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience in multifamily property maintenance

B. Certificates

· Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with current insurance

· HVAC license is preferred.

C. Other Knowledge, skills, or abilities

a. Proven experience as a maintenance technician

b. Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems

c. Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods

d. Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices

e. Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

f. Must be able to lift 50lbs; necessary to install and remove appliances – to operate all the essential hand tools to make repairs.

g. Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
