Cut Off Operator

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Cutoff Operator. This position will be responsible for the operation of the cut off equipment of the tube mill to insure continuous operation during the shift. Safety, quality, priorities above all. Focus on the keeping the mill operational. Maintain clean, safe, organized work area, 5S Cross Training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups TPM of process and equipment in the area Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products. Minimize scrap Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner.

The skills and experience you need: High School diploma or GED Equivalent Good mechanical aptitude Experience in using special measuring devices, micrometer, calipers, tape measure Must be able to read set up charts supplied by OEM and interpret them to roll tooling adjustments. Change out cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames of scheduling Must be able to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking Good communication skills with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities
