About the Southern Texas PGA
The Southern Texas Section of the PGA of America is composed of over 1,000 golf professionals representing over 300 facilities in Southern Texas. The purpose of our organization is to promote enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry.
One of the largest parts of the STPGA is its Junior Golf Program, with over 5,100 junior members and over 550 tournaments a year. This program entails tournaments for the beginner golfer all the way to the highly skilled high school golfer.
Internship Overview
The Southern Texas PGA is looking for a Videography Intern. The ideal candidate is an undergraduate or graduate student in film, digital media, communications, or digital communications. The intern will be primarily responsible for gathering and editing video content for the Section and Foundation initiatives, including tournaments, seminars, and other events.
This internship will begin 5/13/2026 through 8/12/2026. Dates are flexible based on schedules.
Job Responsibilities - Videography
• Videoing events to create event highlight videos and future promotional content
• Interview juniors, parents, and PGA Professionals
• Catalog and label video content in proper manner for storage and future use
• Be on-site at junior/professional golf events throughout the season
• This position will be attending 1-2 events per week which will require extensive travel and weekend work
Qualifications
• Candidate must provide a video reel of professional work, sports experience preferred.
• Candidate must be self-motivated, possess good organizational skills, is detail-oriented, can prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro and After Effects knowledge preferred)
• Advanced video editing skills preferred
• An effective communicator, both written and oral
• Energetic and outgoing - willing to communicate with parents and members
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work outside
• Must be able to work weekends and travel
• Must be based out of Houston, TX
• Interest in a career in sports media preferred
• Basic knowledge of the game of golf is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
• $10.00 per hour + $15 per hour after 40 hours per week
• All travel expenses covered or partially covered based on event location
• STPGA staff apparel and uniforms
• Access to STPGA Golf Facilities
• $300 bonus after completion of ENTIRE internship
