FOCUS: Broadcasting & Streaming Internship
The Morehead City Marlins (mhcmarlins.com) are one of the most successful teams in the Coastal Plain League which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy.
The Marlins play at Big Rock Stadium which is undergoing renovations this off season for the 2026 season, to include a new press box.
The Marlins organization has developed an intensive internship program that prepares its participants for a career in sports. Students who intern with the Marlins immediately become part of the game day staff, learning the different aspects of stadium operations, fan assistance, ticket sales and marketing in a fast-paced environment. We help our interns succeed in their educational and career objectives by preparing for and learning from actual situations our staff encounters at the ballpark which are discussed and experienced daily.
While interns will be involved in all aspect of team and stadium operations, we are seeking a small number of individuals for a game entertainment focused experience that will provide you the opportunity to learn and develop your communication, marketing, game presentation, customer service and organizational skills.
Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:
  • Start date May 18th through approximatively August 12th. (Can be adjusted.)
  • Must work all 26 home games and potential playoff games during the 2026 season.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Summarize the key events, plays and performances that occurred each game in a game overview to be posted to the team's website
  • Shoot videos of the team during training sessions, game days, and other events as needed
  • Execution of pre-production schedule, including video and audio
  • Assist in the post-production process of exporting photos and videos to the team's website
  • Preparing daily game notes, game programs, and statistics packs for media and coaches
  • Help maintain all press box equipment, including video and radio boards
  • Responsible for updating the Marlins X platform during broadcast to keep fans updated during the game
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience / Qualifications Required:
  • College level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with superior production and media knowledge
  • Ability to handle multiple task
  • Proficiency in basic software programs (Camera Operators, Live Streaming, Editing, etc.)
  • Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends
  • Thorough understanding of the rules of baseball
  • Must be willing to build storylines and narratives around game
