LUG Sports is hiring Hockey Operations Staff for our upcoming season!
We are currently looking to fill two important game-night roles within our hockey leagues: Timekeeper and Game Day Staff. These positions work together to ensure games run smoothly and players have a great experience every night.
Both roles are ideal for outgoing, reliable individuals who love hockey and want to be part of the game-day atmosphere.
TIMEKEEPER RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Sport Operations, the Timekeeper is responsible for managing the score clock and recording all in-game statistics.
Responsibilities Include:
• Operating the score clock throughout games
• Recording all game statistics including:
• Goals
• Assists
• Points
• Penalties
• Saves
• Game Misconducts
• Final Scores
• Uploading all scores and statistics to the LUG website
• Playing music during all games (equipment provided)
• Monitoring game activity and supporting overall game flow
Qualifications & Skills:
• Knowledge of hockey rules
• Previous timekeeping experience is an asset (not required)
• Strong attention to detail
• Data entry and processing skills
• Customer service experience is an asset
GAME DAY STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Sport Operations, the Game Day Staff member helps oversee league operations on-site and acts as a liaison between players, referees, arena staff, and LUG Management.
Pre-Game Responsibilities:
• Arrive 15-20 minutes before scheduled games
• Check dressing room assignments to ensure accuracy
• Introduce yourself to arena staff as the on-site LUG representative
• Ensure referees and timekeepers have arrived and are prepared
• Help captains confirm roster and jersey number accuracy for stat tracking
Game-Time Responsibilities:
• Observe games and monitor league operations
• Assist with any issues or questions from players or officials
• Post social media content including highlights, interviews, and team photos
• Report any incidents including:
• Fights or altercations
• Intoxicated behaviour
• Abuse of officials or staff
• Racist or discriminatory behaviour
• Report any alcohol found in dressing rooms or on benches
Post-Game Responsibilities:
• Submit all required reports immediately following games
• Communicate any major issues or incidents to LUG Management
Qualifications & Skills:
• Knowledge of hockey
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Access to reliable transportation preferred
