Job description

Role Overview
The New Jersey Jackals are seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting the team's day-to-day social media efforts. This role offers the opportunity to learn how the Jackals brand comes to life across digital platforms through content planning, creation, and publishing. The intern will also develop skills in fan engagement and assist with real-time coverage of games, promotions, and community events, gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced professional baseball environment.
Key Learnings this summer:
  • Gain hands-on experience publishing and scheduling content across Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Learn how to support the planning and execution of weekly and monthly social media content calendars
  • Develop skills in writing clear, on-brand captions and short-form digital copy
  • Assist with live content coverage during games, batting practice, and team events to understand real-time engagement
  • Build experience in community management by monitoring comments, messages, and mentions and engaging with fans
  • Support campaign launches, promotional nights, and storytelling initiatives while learning brand voice and strategy
  • Collaborate with photographers, videographers, players, and front office staff to understand cross-functional content creation
  • Learn best practices for organizing and managing digital assets across shared platforms
  • Gain exposure to social media analytics by tracking basic performance metrics and assisting with reporting
Content & Creative Support
  • Format photos and videos for social platforms
  • Build carousels, stories, and short-form video content using provided assets
  • Ensure consistency with Jackals brand voice and visual guidelines
  • Support recurring content series such as game-day graphics, player features, and in-game highlights
  • Assist with coverage of themed nights, fan experiences, and ballpark entertainment
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, including trends, short-form video formats, and platform-specific best practices
  • Strong understanding of major social platforms and digital trends
  • Clear writing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Comfortable working nights and weekends as required for games and events
  • Passion for baseball, fan engagement, and community involvement
