Job description

FindTalent is seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager to lead large-scale solar construction projects in Wisconsin and surrounding regions. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of multi-million-dollar solar installations-from preconstruction planning and estimating through execution, closeout, and client handoff. While this position offers remote flexibility, regular travel to active project sites is required. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with expertise in electrical construction, contract management, budgeting, and field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and solicit pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
  • Develop and submit comprehensive project proposals with all required documentation.
  • Review and interpret contract terms, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Manage subcontract agreements and purchase orders, providing oversight throughout execution.
  • Plan and coordinate project resources including labor, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Lead day-to-day project operations, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Supervise project supervisors and field management staff, providing direction and performance oversight.
  • Monitor project financials, including job cost tracking, forecasting, reporting, and monthly billing applications.
  • Approve major procurement decisions and construction methodologies prior to implementation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, address issues proactively, and maintain alignment with stakeholders.
  • Ensure all installation work meets applicable codes, engineering standards, and client specifications.
  • Oversee project closeout activities including documentation, inspections, and final deliverables.
  • Support workforce development initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent field leadership experience considered.
  • Minimum 6 years of project leadership experience managing complex electrical or renewable energy construction projects valued in the multi-million-dollar range.
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and safety standards.
  • Experience with contract review, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in project management software and general computer applications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to job sites as required.
