Job description

We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Civil Engineerwith a passion for renewable energy to lead clients, projects, and portfolios as a Project Manager and their projects throughout the region. The Project Manager will work closely with our core renewables team and will manage the project responsibilities.
Qualified candidates will:
  • Excel at contributing to all phases of Renewable Energy and other Civil Engineering projects including:
  • development of schematic drawings,
  • working within teams in a collaborative manner,
  • producing effective and high-quality drawings to be issued for construction,
  • steering projects through the municipal or state approval process, and
  • supporting projects throughout construction as they progress to commissioning.
  • The ability to communicate effectively using verbal, graphic, and written means is paramount and a necessity for this position.
  • Assist with proposal writing and business development.
  • Manage mid-level and entry-level staff.
Responsibilities:
  • Planning, scheduling, developing, coordinating, directing, and managing a variety of renewable energy projects and portfolios.
  • Preparing various types of related reports and studies and securing local approvals and permits for projects.
  • Contribute to marketing of the firm and development of new business by initiating relationships with new clients, maintaining relationships with current clients, and key individuals of other organizations and companies.
  • Developing and evaluating plans and criteria for renewable energy projects as well as planning and coordinating activities to be carried out by others including in-house engineers, designers, and surveyors and outside specialty consultants.
  • Develop an understanding of local/state jurisdictional requirements for utility-scale, distributed generation and behind-the-meter renewable energy applications.
  • Travel is anticipated to project locations and industry conferences.
Requirements
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 8+ years of civil engineering experience
  • Experience managing renewable energy projects is desired
  • Must be an effective presenter at Public Meetings
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to obtain licenses in numerous states
  • The ideal candidate has the traits of a team player who is enthusiastic about all aspects of engineering and project management and can lead projects from planning and preliminary engineering through design and construction
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Be a team player
  • Able to relate well to project team and clients
