Job description

Description
Power the Projects That Power Hawai?i
Some project managers track schedules.
Others build the future.
At Alpha Inc., we're looking for an Energy Project Manager who thrives where infrastructure, innovation, and execution collide. Someone who can lead complex renewable energy, utility, power, and infrastructure projects from concept to completion while keeping safety, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction at the center of every decision.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk and send status updates.
This is for the builder. The problem solver. The person who sees obstacles, develops solutions, rallies teams, and delivers results.
If you're energized by high-impact projects, passionate about renewable energy, and driven to lead teams that make a difference for Hawai?i's future, keep reading.
About Alpha Inc.
Alpha Inc. is a locally owned Hawai?i company delivering industry-leading solutions across construction, drilling, energy, and infrastructure. We tackle complex projects that strengthen our communities, support critical systems, and help shape a more sustainable future for the islands we call home.
Everything we do is guided by our core values:
Lead with Heart
We prioritize people, safety, and respect while delivering exceptional results.
Strength in Unity
We believe collaboration creates stronger teams, stronger projects, and stronger communities.
Alpha Mentality
We bring grit, accountability, innovation, and relentless execution to every challenge.
These aren't words on a wall. They're expectations we live every day.
The Opportunity
As Energy Project Manager, you'll own the full lifecycle of energy, utility, reliability, power distribution, battery storage, and infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients.
You'll serve as the operational quarterback-aligning budgets, schedules, teams, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and at the highest standard of quality.
You'll be trusted with significant responsibility, empowered to make decisions, and expected to lead with confidence.
What You'll Own
Lead Complex Energy Projects
  • Manage energy, utility, power, reliability, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Drive successful project execution while balancing scope, schedule, quality, and profitability.
  • Ensure projects meet contractual obligations and client expectations.
Deliver Operational Excellence
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address risks, delays, and cost impacts.
  • Manage estimates, contracts, change orders, work orders, and project documentation.
Build Strong Teams
  • Partner with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability across project teams.
  • Create a culture focused on communication, ownership, and results.
Manage Client Relationships
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide clear project updates, identify solutions, and proactively address concerns.
  • Strengthen Alpha's reputation through professionalism, responsiveness, and integrity.
Drive Financial Performance
  • Monitor project budgets and financial metrics.
  • Manage cost controls and profitability targets.
  • Identify scope changes and negotiate project adjustments when necessary.
Champion Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.
  • Maintain project documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Identify project risks and implement corrective actions before they become problems.
Finish Strong
  • Ensure smooth project closeout processes.
  • Deliver successful project handoffs to clients.
  • Capture lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities.
What You Bring
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial-scale renewable energy, electrical, utility, or infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum 2 years of project management or supervisory leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams.
Technical Expertise
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy, utility infrastructure, electrical systems, or related construction projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with project management software platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Experience with Utility-Scale Distribution projects.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, HCSS, or similar construction management software.
  • PMP or other project management certifications are a plus.
Who Thrives Here
You'll excel at Alpha if you:
  • Lead with accountability, not excuses.
  • Stay calm under pressure and solve problems quickly.
  • Communicate clearly with field teams, clients, executives, and stakeholders.
  • Balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Care deeply about safety, quality, and team success.
  • Take ownership and consistently follow through.
  • Want to help build Hawai?i's energy future-not just manage projects.
