Sterile Processing Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Use equipment to sterilize and decontaminate surgical and patient-care equipment
- Log usage and maintain sterilization and decontamination equipment
- Receive and track equipment to be used elsewhere in the facility or in other hospital facilities
- Collaborate with surgery team leads to ensure timely processing and availability of critical equipment
Sterile Processing Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current licensure as a Sterile Processing Technician (IAHCSMM and CBSPD)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Prior relevant experience in a health care environment
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 25 pounds
