Spray Painter Job Summary
We are seeking a Spray Painter to paint or touch-up automobile parts. In this position, you will use a variety of industrial equipment, including a spray gun. You will tape off windows and other details of the car, spray a layer of paint, and apply finishing touches to the vehicle. In some cases, the car will already have a layer of paint, which may impact how you spray on the new coat. Our ideal applicant has experience as an apprentice under a Spray Painter, and general automobile and painting experience.
Spray Painter Duties and Responsibilities
- Cover windows and crevices that do not need paint
- Prepare the surface
- Spray a layer of primer
- Spray the first layer of paint, checking for thin spots
- Apply a layer of clear coat to ensure a long-lasting finish
Spray Painter Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Completed apprenticeship
- General painting experience
- Automotive experience
- An eye for color
