Recreation Aide Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Recreation Aide to help keep our community programs running smoothly. Under the supervision of the recreation director, you will greet and register patrons when they arrive, distribute equipment for games, supervise the participation of youth during activities and special events, and store equipment when games are over. When necessary, you will also make simple repairs and perform other maintenance duties around the grounds. Our ideal candidate has some experience monitoring recreational activities and working with youth.

Recreation Aide Duties and Responsibilities

  • Register guests and take payments when necessary
  • Distribute equipment for games and activities
  • Supervise youth in play areas and around the playground
  • Take inventory of equipment when games are over and store properly
  • Perform simple repairs and basic maintenance duties around the grounds

Recreation Aide Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
  • At least 17 years old
  • Experience working with recreational programs and youth a plus
  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment, such as a copy machine
