Psychiatric Technician Job Summary
Our mental health clinic is looking for an experienced Psychiatric Technician to join our staff. In this role, you will help our psychiatrists and other doctors provide mental health care and rehabilitation services to our patients. You should be comfortable working with a diverse group of patients, such as patients with developmental disabilities and suicidal or depressed individuals. Experience working with vulnerable populations, such as in a nursing home or correctional facility, is beneficial. Our ideal candidate has an associate degree in psychology with some training in behavior analysis. You also need CPR and basic life support certification.
Psychiatric Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor patients, both for vital signs and overall well-being
- Provide basic medical and personal care
- Interact with patients to provide companionship and observe their behavior
- Administer medications and perform other treatments
- Lead group therapy sessions
Psychiatric Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate degree in psychology
- Experience with behavior analysis
- CPR and BLS certificate
- Strong communication and observational skills
- Experience as a social worker (preferred)
