Painter Helper Job Summary
Our company is looking for a Painter Helper to help prepare our worksites and assist our painters on the job. In this role, you are responsible for sanding or sandblasting surfaces to remove the old paint, coating surfaces so that they better hold the paint, and helping clean up after the job is done. You also take steps to protect pieces of furniture and the intricate carpentry of the wall. Our ideal candidate has some experience working under an experienced painter. You should be skilled with various power and hand tools. Having additional industrial qualifications, such as forklift experience, are a plus.
Painter Helper Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean up your job site
- Protect furniture, floors, and other pieces of the structure that do not need paint
- Remove old paint using a sandblaster or other tools
- Prepare the surface for painting
- Assist the painter during the job
Painter Helper Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
- Experience working under a painter or on a construction site (preferred)
- Skills with a variety of hand and power tools
- Attention to detail
