Human Resources Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to support our human resources department. In this position, you will create new employee packets, manage employee records, organize and update files, and prepare reports. On a daily basis, you will answer phone calls, handle scheduling and ensure the office calendar is current, and perform other administrative tasks as needed. Our ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in human resources, but we are willing to train the right person.

Human Resources Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation
  • Assist with recruitment of potential applicants
  • Update online job posting requirements when needed
  • Coordinate HR projects such as meetings or surveys
  • Help organize and manage new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs
  • Assist in explaining and providing information on employee benefits, programs, and education

Human Resources Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field a plus
  • 1+ years in human resources preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) a plus
  • General knowledge of employment laws and best practices
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
