Cherry Picker Operator Job Summary

Our distribution center is looking for a dependable and experienced Cherry Picker Operator to join our team. This is an order picking role, so your main tasks will involve using the forklift to retrieve items from warehouse shelves for shipment and helping package and label them for order fulfillment. Other tasks include keeping track of inventory changes and completing daily production reports. Applicants should have at least six months to a year of experience operating a sit-down cherry picker or forklift, and some shipping and receiving experience is preferred. All applicants must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

Cherry Picker Operator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use a cherry picker forklift to place or remove large items on warehouse shelves
  • Package and label items for shipment
  • Keep track of shipments and product relocations within the warehouse
  • Use a cherry picker forklift with a work platform to elevate workers so they can check inventory
  • Follow all safety regulations
  • Assist with other tasks as needed, including loading and unloading delivery trucks

Cherry Picker Operator Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
  • Six or more months of experience operating a cherry picker or forklift
  • Experience operating a pallet jack (preferred)
  • OSHA certification (preferred)
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical skills
  • Physical stamina
