Cardiovascular Technician Job Summary

Our clinic seeks a Cardiovascular Technician to assist physicians in treating patients with heart, circulatory system, and blood vessel illnesses and conditions. In this role, you are responsible for operating specialized devices, such as ultrasound equipment, and taking diagnostic images that physicians can use to evaluate their patients' conditions. You may also prepare patients for procedures and assist physicians during surgery as needed. To qualify, you need an associate degree in cardiovascular technology, but our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree and professional certification.

Cardiovascular Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside physicians to help diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular conditions
  • Review patient information and schedule appointments
  • Operate specialized equipment to capture images and data
  • Prep patients for a procedure or surgery by providing information and monitoring vital signs
  • Assist physicians during a procedure or surgery
  • Work with other medical technologists and sonographers as needed to provide comprehensive patient care

Cardiovascular Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least an associate degree in cardiovascular technology (bachelor's degree a plus)
  • Professional certification (if required by state)
  • Knowledge of and skills in using relevant equipment
  • Hands-on experience at a clinic or in a cardiology hospital unit
  • Strong communication skills and a good bedside manner
