About the role
We are seeking a Senior Strategic Planning Manager to drive Planning, Performance, and Strategy across one or more of our Software and Advertising products. Strategic Planning serves as the connective tissue between Zillow's top-level operating goals and the cross-functional teams that execute against them. In this role, you will drive business performance by architecting and proactively managing our critical business rhythms, leveraging structured analytical frameworks to uncover strategic opportunities, and leading cross-functional stakeholder teams to execute high-impact initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings the rigorous structured thinking of a top-tier management consultant and the ownership mindset of an entrepreneur. You are a proactive leader capable of architecting complex projects from scratch, managing senior stakeholder relationships, and driving teams toward high-impact deliverables.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Develop a deep understanding of one or more of Zillow's businesses, key performance drivers, and cross-functional improvement opportunities. Become a subject matter expert.
  • Drive our annual operating plan including goal setting, performance management, and executive-level monthly/quarterly business reviews.
  • Establish and maintain key business metrics (inputs/outputs), and develop sophisticated forecast models to project results and measure gaps to plan.
  • Lead cross-functional stakeholder projects from ideation to execution, ensuring alignment across Product, Sales, and Finance to meet critical business milestones.
  • Act as an internal consultant to business leaders, providing structured frameworks to solve ambiguous problems and driving data-backed decisions at the executive level.
  • Proactively develop insights and recommendations to improve performance. Present findings and options effectively to an executive audience to drive decisions.
  • Analyze business, operational, or customer data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, BI, and data science to build advanced analytics and real-time performance dashboards.
  • Drive key business operations to serve the needs of our cross-functional partners.
  • Maintain an understanding of competitor or industry trends.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $127,100.00 - $203,000.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia the standard base pay range for this role is $120,700.00 - $192,900.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.
Who you are
  • 7+ years work experience, including 2+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm.
  • Experience in Strategy, Planning, or GTM in a Technology, Software, or SaaS setting.
  • Proficient in SQL and visualization software (e.g., Tableau) for large scale data manipulation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative business analysis and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and synthesize data into clear insights.
  • Experience driving performance metrics, annual planning processes, and facilitating executive-level business reviews.
  • Outstanding communicator, capable of presenting complex financial and business data and insights to C-level executives
  • Highly collaborative, you thrive working in fast-paced environments with stakeholders across every function (product, engineering, marketing, sales, finance, analytics, etc.)
