Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Sports & Recreational Turf Worker's primary responsibility is to provide direct support to the Recreation Grounds and Turf Manger with related work associated with the upkeep and maintenance of the Recreational Field Complex and Shoreline Sports Complex [including buildings, synthetic turf fields, natural grass fields, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts and related equipment]. There will be an emphasis on providing hands on experience and sharing knowledge related to the turf management career and designed for those looking for an internship or practicum experience. The Sports & Recreational Turf Worker will report directly to the Recreation Grounds and Turf Manager.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma
  • Ability to perform physical labor (lifting at least 50 pounds required)
  • Commitment to seasonal work within May 1 - August 30(specific start and end dates may be negotiated)

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Desire to pursue a career in turf management, applicable discipline, or related field

  • Valid Drivers License
