The Software Product Engineering (SPE) organization is seeking an exceptional leader to establish and drive our Enterprise AI Orchestration strategy. This role will define how Lilly deploys, manages, and optimizes AI agents and workflows at organizational scale, transforming how work gets done across the enterprise. You will own the product strategy for an enterprise AI orchestration product and capabilities that sit above our existing AI platforms.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of enterprise AI adoption in pharmaceuticals, working at the intersection of advanced technology and business transformation. The role requires someone who can think strategically about organizational change while maintaining deep technical understanding of AI systems.
What You'll Be Doing:
Building on Lilly's established genAI platform (Cortex) and employee-facing AI products, you will create an orchestration layer that enables leaders and teams to deploy and manage AI workforces at scale. You will define how organizations monitor agent performance, optimize workflows, and measure the business impact of AI deployment.
As the Product Manager for Enterprise AI Orchestration, you will establish Lilly as a leader in pharmaceutical AI transformation by creating capabilities that turn individual AI tools into coordinated organizational assets. This role requires balancing technical sophistication with business pragmatism, ensuring our AI investments deliver measurable enterprise value.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Vision:
  • Define and drive the enterprise AI orchestration strategy, establishing how Lilly deploys and manages AI agents at organizational scale
  • Enable measurement of Digital Worker Impact (DWI) and AI workforce ROI across the enterprise
  • Establish governance models for enterprise AI deployment that balance innovation with compliance requirements
  • Partner with C-suite and senior leaders to align AI workforce strategy with business transformation goals

Product Development:
  • Own the PharmAI platform roadmap (enterprise AI orchestration platform) and associated enterprise orchestration capabilities
  • Define integration strategies with existing platforms and products to create a unified AI ecosystem
  • Establish standards for agent interoperability and workflow orchestration across business units
  • Drive development of business-specific AI studios (Finance, Legal, Clinical, etc.) in partnership with domain leaders

Enterprise Enablement:
  • Create playbooks and frameworks for business units to build and manage their AI workforces
  • Establish Centers of Excellence for AI workforce deployment across key business areas
  • Define success metrics and KPIs for enterprise AI adoption and impact
  • Build executive dashboards for AI workforce visibility and governance

Organizational Leadership:
  • Monitor pharmaceutical industry trends in enterprise AI adoption and workforce transformation
  • Influence enterprise-wide AI adoption strategy and change management
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations on AI workforce planning and impact assessment
  • Lead cross-functional steering committees for major AI transformation initiatives
  • Serve as a spokesperson for enterprise AI orchestration internally and externally

What You Should Bring:
  • Demonstrated ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and drive organizational change
  • Excellence in strategic thinking with ability to translate vision into executable roadmaps
  • Strong business acumen with experience in ROI modeling and business case development
  • Outstanding communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to business audiences
  • Advanced technical degree
  • Experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or regulated industries
  • Background in enterprise automation, RPA, or workflow orchestration platforms
  • Experience with organizational change management and digital transformation
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements (21 CFR Part 11, GxP)
  • Experience building and managing product teams
  • Track record of thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, or patents

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 12+ years of product management experience with at least 5 years in enterprise platform products
  • Proven track record of driving enterprise-wide technology transformation initiatives
  • Experience with AI/ML products and understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$162,000 - $268,400
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
