The Senior Workday Business Intelligence Analyst designs, develops, and supports advanced reporting and analytics solutions within Workday to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role partners with HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Research, and other stakeholders to translate complex reporting requirements into accurate, efficient, and consumable insights. The Senior Analyst owns the full reporting lifecycle, from data modeling and design through validation, delivery, and ongoing support. This position requires deep expertise in Workday reporting, Prism Analytics, and data governance, along with the ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain advanced Workday reporting and analytics solutions, including Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Trending, Dashboards, BIRT, and Prism Analytics
  • Develop and optimize complex Workday report logic and calculated fields to ensure scalable, accurate, and reusable reporting solutions
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Research, IT, and leadership stakeholders to translate business questions into scalable reporting solutions
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, integrity, performance, and usability across Workday tenants
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex reporting and Prism data issues, including root-cause analysis and optimization
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and audit support during data loads, releases, and configuration changes
  • Monitor and optimize report performance and stay current on Workday reporting enhancements and upcoming releases

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced expertise in Workday reporting and analytics, including Workday Report Writer, Composite and Matrix Reports, BIRT, Calculated Fields, dashboards, and discovery boards, with the ability to design scalable and high-performance reporting solutions.
  • Deep understanding of Workday data structures and relationships across major functional domains including HCM, Finance, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Payroll, and Grants, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into accurate data models and reporting solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with demonstrated ability to interpret large data sets, identify trends and data anomalies, and deliver actionable insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to design and maintain complex calculated fields and advanced report logic, including conditional calculations, data transformations, and cross-object reporting structures.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data governance and reporting best practices, including data quality validation, security considerations, report optimization, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather reporting requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver solutions that support operational, compliance, and executive reporting needs.
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including the development of executive-ready dashboards, visualizations, and summary insights.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple reporting initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and IS, to deliver integrated reporting solutions.

Minimum Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Workday reporting, analytics, or business intelligence roles required.
  • Hands-on experience delivering complex Workday reports and dashboards in production environments required.
  • Workday Pro HCM and/or Financials Reporting Certification preferred.
