Overview / Role Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Workday Financial Reporting & Functional Consultant to support a new enterprise Workday Financials implementation.
This is a customer-facing role with a strong emphasis on Workday Financial Reporting, finance data analysis and reconciliation, whilst also supporting the configuration of Workday Financials and Finance business processes. Working alongside Finance stakeholders, Solution Architects and integration teams, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, validating financial data and ensuring the successful implementation and adoption of Workday Financials.
This opportunity is ideal for a consultant who combines strong functional Workday Financials knowledge with excellent reporting capabilities and the ability to work closely with Finance teams to solve complex business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Workday Financial Reports, including Advanced Reports, Composite Reports, Matrix Reports and Workday Prism Analytics.
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver meaningful financial insights.
  • Perform financial data comparison, reconciliation and validation activities throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Configure and support Workday Financial Management modules, including General Ledger and Financial Reporting.
  • Support Chart of Accounts extraction, accounting rules, allocations and financial reporting structures.
  • Configure Workday Business Processes and Security to align with Finance and compliance requirements.
  • Support financial data conversion activities, including open balance validation and migration.
  • Collaborate with Workday Solution Architects and integration teams to ensure successful end-to-end solution delivery.
  • Participate in unit testing, end-to-end testing, UAT and cutover planning.
  • Support Workday release management by assessing new functionality and enabling business adoption.
  • Produce functional documentation, knowledge transfer and end-user training for Finance teams.
  • Ensure Workday configurations align with SOX, GAAP, IFRS and internal control requirements.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience implementing and configuring Workday Financial Management.
  • Strong expertise in Workday Financial Reporting, including Advanced Reports, Composite Reports, Matrix Reports and Workday Prism Analytics.
  • Demonstrable experience performing financial data reconciliation, comparison and validation.
  • Strong understanding of General Ledger, Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structures.
  • Hands-on experience configuring Workday Business Processes and Security.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP and multi-entity financial environments.
  • Experience supporting Workday Financials implementations through testing, cutover and post-go-live activities.
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work directly with Finance leadership and business users.
  • Current Workday Financials Certification.
Dealbreakers (Non-Negotiable Requirements)
  • Current Workday Financials Certification.
  • Proven Workday Financials implementation experience.
  • Strong Workday Financial Reporting experience.
  • Demonstrable finance data reconciliation and analytical experience.
  • Ability to work onsite in Bridgewater, NJ, Tampa, FL or Cary, NC.
Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with Workday Studio, RAAS, WQL and Workday SOAP/REST APIs.
  • Exposure to Finance Data Hub or Azure Databricks integrations.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise Workday Financials programmes.
  • Knowledge of SOX, IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Previous experience within Financial Services or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
