As we continue to pursue new goals, it's an exciting time to join the Bragg team. We are currently hiring a Benefits Coordinator in our Long Beach, CA headquarters.
Position Overview:
The Benefits Coordinator position assists employees with benefits enrollment, answer questions, maintains employee database, and files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Benefits Administration: Manage day-to-day benefits operations, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, status changes, beneficiary updates, and life event claims.
  • Employee Support & Claims Assistance: Serve as a primary resource for employees by addressing benefit-related questions and assisting with health, dental, life, and other benefit claims.
  • New Hire Benefits Enrollment: Facilitate benefits onboarding for new hires, including education and support for the self-enrollment system.
  • Records Management & Compliance: Maintain accurate benefits files and payroll/HRIS records, and process compliance-related requests such as National Medical Support Notices (NMSNs).
  • Benefits Communication & Education: Develop and distribute benefits communications and materials, including orientation content, open enrollment resources, and summary plan descriptions.
  • Reporting & Program Support: Assist with benefits reporting requirements and support the planning and coordination of health fairs and benefits events.
  • Benefits Team Support: Partner with the Benefits Manager on ongoing initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee benefits administration with a strong understanding of benefits processes and applicable laws.
  • Benefits Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of employee benefits programs, compliance requirements, and related regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using HCM systems (Ceridian Dayforce preferred).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain benefits information clearly to employees.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities with close attention to detail.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification: SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) highly desirable.
  • Systems Experience: Prior experience working with Ceridian Dayforce or similar HRIS platforms.

Work Environment:
  • Physical Conditions: Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.
