Job description

About the Role

Eldredge Lumber & Hardware has been serving Southern Maine communities since 1937. We're a family-owned, independent Ace Hardware store — and we're looking for a skilled Window & Door Technician to join our team.

In this role, you'll be a key resource for warranty and billable service for our team — going to jobsites for warranty and repair evaluations for window and door products. You'll work closely with our service coordinator and sales staff in executing the repair and service of our core window and door products.

What You'll Do

•       Conduct on-site evaluations for warranty or installation concerns for window and door products

•       Assist customers in understanding the various steps in the service process

•       Prepare accurate evaluations, repair reports and submit to the service coordinator

•       Look ahead in the service schedule and properly prepare for upcoming appointments

•       Troubleshoot installation challenges, product quality concerns and ensure quality workmanship for proper product operation and performance.

•       Maintain product knowledge on current window and door lines (Marvin, Andersen, Therma Tru or similar millwork products)

•       Work collaboratively with store staff and management to deliver excellent customer service

•       Keep accurate records of evaluations, repairs needed/completed and customer communications.

What We're Looking For

Required:

•       Experience with window and door service & installation

•       Team player that works well within a small team.

•       Ability to work independently in the field

•       Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

•       Customer-facing communication skills

•       Basic computer proficiency (window software programs, email, service reporting)

•       Physical ability to lift 75+ lbs and work at height

•       Attention to detail and quality workmanship

A Plus If You Have:

•       Familiarity with Marvin, Andersen and general millwork related or similar product lines

•       Prior experience at a lumber yard, home center or building supply company

•       Previous window and door experience both from a sales and repair perspective

•       Maine contractor's license or equivalent

Why Eldredge?

We're not a big box store. We're a locally-owned, community hardware store where the people you work with know your name — and so do the customers. When you join Eldredge, you're joining a team that's been part of Maine for nearly 90 years.

•       Competitive pay

•       Health, dental & vision benefits

•       Paid time off

•       Ace Hardware employee discount

•       Stable, year-round employment

•       Supportive, team-oriented culture
