STATUS: PART-TIME (NON-EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Team Member plays a critical role in the execution of sports events, tournaments, and day-to-day facility operations. This position focuses on ensuring that fields, courts, and facility areas are fully prepared, operational, and professionally presented for games and activities. From event setup and breakdown to logistical support during tournaments, this fast-paced, hands-on role is ideal for someone passionate about sports and gaining experience in sports event and facility management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Facility Maintenance & Grounds Support

  • Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of the facility. Operate utility carts and other basic equipment for monitoring trash bins
  • Assist maintenance to perform light maintenance tasks to support smooth operations such as securing equipment, minor repairs, touchups
  • Maintain and repair playing surfaces
  • Monitor the condition and functionality of playing surfaces, goals, benches, fences, and scoreboards
  • Assist with managing facility inventory, including equipment, signage, and supplies
  • Complete post-event checklists and contribute to breakdown and reset of the venue for next day's event
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and appearance of the facility, including parking lots, walkways, and flower beds; operate utility carts and monitor trash bins
  • Assist maintenance staff with light repairs, equipment touchups, and securing facility assets
  • Maintain, monitor, and repair playing surfaces, goals, benches, fences, and scoreboards
  • Manage and organize facility inventory, including equipment, signage, and supplies
  • Complete post-event checklists and assist with resetting the venue for next-day events or practices

Sports Operations

  • Assist with the full event lifecycle, including setup, execution, and teardown for tournaments, leagues, and special events
  • Set up and remove event signage, tents, benches, hydration stations, tables, goals, and other equipment according to sport specific standards
  • Monitor all walkways and flower beds and keep clear of weeds, grass, trash, water, ice, etc.
  • Help flip and transition venue spaces between games or events (installing temporary fencing, pitching mounds, soccer goals, etc.)
  • Ensure facility readiness before, during and after events - checking for cleanliness, safety, and operational flow. (including parking lot)
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning of facility equipment
  • Provide on-the-ground support to event staff, officials, and teams during competitions
  • Communicate with the Facility Manager and Operations Team to stay aligned on daily priorities and changes
  • Support full event lifecycle including setup, execution, and teardown for events
  • Set up and remove signage, benches, water coolers, goals, and sport specific equipment; install temporary fencing, pitching mounds, and other field flips
  • Ensure event readiness before, during, and after events, including cleanliness, safety, and operational flow
  • Provide onsite event support to staff, officials, and teams during events
  • Communicate with the Facilities Director and team to stay aligned on daily tasks and schedule changes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Interest or experience in sports management, event operations, parks and recreation, or facility logistics
  • Willingness to learn tournament and athletic facility needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team during high-volume weekends and large tournaments
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and customer service focused

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Will be required to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Will be required to work in all weather conditions
  • Will be required to paint, clean equipment, and safely handle chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms
