Job description

Job Summary
The WIC Manager's primary job function is to ensure effective day to day operations, provide supervision for assigned staff, and to ensure that the WIC program achieves their goals while maintaining the highest level of quality and compliance in accordance with State WIC guidelines and agency expectations. Uses a Continuous Quality Improvement Process to assess, plan, design, implement and evaluate care delivered to participants in these programs. Able to provide direct client services
Essential Functions: These functions are fundamental to the role and must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  1. Provides day-to-day supervision & management of WIC in alignment with the mission, core values and strategic goals of the organization:
    1. Recruits, hires, and orients new program staff
    2. Performs daily coaching and annual evaluations
    3. Schedules employees to meet program/customer needs.
    4. Conducts regular departmental meetings.
    5. Aligns department with agency strategic goals.
  2. Provides direct client care, in both individual and group settings.
  3. Responsible for development, monitoring and reporting of departmental budget.
  4. Develop new programs to meet strategic initiatives.
  5. Ensures compliance with State and Federal WIC program guidelines.
  6. Maintains authorized participating WIC caseload for agency.
  7. Collaborates with other departments to coordinate overall care and maximize delivery of services for clients and CVCH patients.
  8. Responsible for all programs and applicable grant reports.
  9. Participates in CVCH's CQI process and uses this process to:
    1. Assess, plan, design, implement and evaluate service delivery to clients.
    2. Develop processes to assist department in achieving excellence in service delivery.
  10. Represents agency at local, state and federal agencies, conferences and other meetings regarding matters of interest or effect on CVCH at the request of the COO.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: These functions are fundamental to the role and must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  3. Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

  6. Comply with CVCH policies, Joint Commission standards, and HIPPA regulations.

Non-Essential Functions: These are tasks that are included in the role but are not critical. They may be reassigned or modified without fundamentally changing the job.

  • Participate in internal committees or special projects.
  • Contribute to internal communications or newsletters.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Associate's degree required or 5+ years direct WIC Experience in lieu of degree. Bachelors preferred.

Certification/Licensure:
  • Washington State Certifier Competency Training within 6 months of hire.

Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience required. Knowledge of CQI processes is desirable, with a background in Maternal/Child Health and WIC program guidelines extremely helpful. Experience working with Hispanic culture preferred.

Language Skills:
  • English and Spanish fluency required

Paid Leave may be used immediately for sick leave and after 3 months employment for vacation. Maximum accrual cap of 320 hours; hours in excess of 320 hours will automatically transfer into the employees EIB.
Extended Illness Bank (EIB)
Allows for maximum accrual of 200 hours
PTO hours in excess of 320 will transfer into EIB. Employees are eligible to use EIB hours after at least 3 consecutive scheduled working days of PTO (max 24 hours) which have been used for a personal illness and/or a qualifying event under FMLA or the WA Family Care Act.

Holidays are based on an 8-hour day. Providers will receive a holiday pool of 64 hours as a 1.0 FTE at the beginning of each calendar year. Holiday pool hours must be used by December 31 of each calendar year; unused holiday pool hours will be forfeited. If an employee starts after the calendar year has begun, holiday hours will be prorated based on remaining holidays in the calendar year.

Available after the first payroll cycle after start date. Diversity days will be prorated based on start date as outlined below:
  • Jan 1- April 30: 3 diversity days (24 hours if 1.0 FTE)
  • May 1 - August 31: 2 diversity days (16 hours if 1.0 FTE)

Tuition Reimbursement
