Lead the delivery, administration, and continuous improvement of enterprise collaboration services - primarily SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365 - enabling employees to communicate, share information, and work effectively. This role serves as a senior operational and escalation resource for collaboration platforms, working closely cross-team to maintain service quality and resolve escalated issues.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:

  • Administer and support day-to-day operations of SharePoint Online and OneDrive, plus related Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, and other collaboration tools
  • Own SharePoint Online architecture and governance, including site provisioning standards, permissions models, information architecture, and site lifecycle management
  • Monitor service health across M365 workloads, respond to alerts, and coordinate with Microsoft support on service incidents and degradations
  • Manage user and group provisioning, licensing assignments, and access reviews within Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) in alignment with IT policy
  • Serve as the escalation point for tier-2 and tier-3 collaboration service requests and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with end users
  • Maintain documentation for service configurations, operational runbooks, known issues, and standard procedures
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding of users across M365 services, including mailbox provisioning, Teams membership, and SharePoint site access
  • Lead the rollout of new SharePoint and M365 features and updates, coordinating testing and communicating changes to stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, service gaps, and opportunities for automation or process optimization
  • Mentor junior administrators and helpdesk staff on SharePoint support practices and escalation handling
  • Support Microsoft 365 Copilot enablement, including SharePoint content readiness, permissions hygiene, and oversharing controls

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Expert knowledge of SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business; working knowledge of the other Microsoft 365 core workloads: Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and the M365 Admin Center
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint permissions management, sharing and external access controls, and site governance
  • Solid understanding of Entra ID (Azure AD) concepts including user accounts, groups, conditional access policies, and licensing management
  • Understanding of ITSM principles and experience working within a ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management)
  • Strong proficiency with PowerShell scripting for M365 administration tasks (SharePoint Online Management Shell, PnP PowerShell, Exchange Online PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API)
  • Understanding of email security fundamentals including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and anti-spam/anti-phishing policy management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 compliance and data governance concepts (retention policies, DLP, sensitivity labels), particularly as applied to SharePoint and OneDrive

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degee in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in an IT operations or systems administration role with direct responsibility for SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365 or Office 365 environments
  • Demonstrated experience supporting end users on collaboration platform issues and requests in an enterprise environment
  • Experience planning and executing SharePoint migrations (file shares, legacy SharePoint versions, or tenant-to-tenant)
  • Experience working within Agile or Kanban-based team workflows, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, or similar structured delivery cadences
  • Track record of maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to knowledge base articles or operational runbooks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102) or comparable Microsoft certification preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune for device compliance monitoring or co-management scenarios
  • Exposure to Microsoft Purview or Power Platform tooling
  • Familiarity with identity governance practices and privileged access management concepts
