Job description

This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award.

The Aircraft Mechanic I performs maintenance, repair, and alterations on aircraft and components in accordance with OEM publications and under strict FAA regulations. This entry-level position focuses on basic tasks with moderate supervision and on-the-job training to learn more complex duties. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing airframe, engine, and avionics systems, maintaining thorough documentation, and ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards to certify aircraft for return to service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft and components under supervision.
  • Assist in troubleshooting airframe, engine, and avionics systems to identify discrepancies.
  • Follow OEM manuals and FAA regulations for all maintenance tasks.
  • Document maintenance actions accurately and completely in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Support functional and operational checks to verify airworthiness.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop skills for more complex maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical school or military aviation maintenance training preferred.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
  • 1+ years of aircraft maintenance experience or equivalent training.
  • Basic understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and work instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Army aviation or military aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Familiarity with GCSS-Army, ULLS-A(E), or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge of AS9110 / ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • OEM-specific maintenance training or certifications.
