Description

This position requires an ACTIVE security clearance.

This position can be performed remote from anywhere, but may require up to 15% travel.

As a skilled and dynamic Cloud Solutions Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based solutions in support of the U.S. Army's energy and water use metering program. The total solution is considered a system-of-systems with developed applications integrating with the Army enterprise cloud and data environment. The solutions you develop will enable scalable, secure, and reliable operations. This role bridges the gap between software development and infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on architecting cloud-native applications, integrating services, and ensuring performance across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud-native applications and services on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Configure and optimize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps, and security teams to develop cloud solutions that meet business and compliance requirements.
  • Integrate applications with cloud services (databases, messaging, storage, APIs, identity).
  • Automate deployment and scaling processes through CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, GKE).
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud workloads, ensuring high availability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, best practices, and industry standards.
