Job Description:

Summary: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may also be required by the Director of Nursing to maintain the highest degree of quality care at all times.

All shifts available, 8 hour and 12 hour

Responsibilities:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Educate patients on surgical proceduresโ€ข Record patientsโ€™ medical information and vital signs.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Change dressings, insert catheters, starts IVs

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Participate in discharge planning.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Supervision of support staff and licensed nurse

Requirements/Qualifications:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Current Virginia RN license

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Current BLS certification

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Associate degree

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Willingness to make a difference!

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  First aid and CPR certification

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Current RN license in Virginia

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Exceptional staff training and customer service skills
