Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Spare Parts Supervisor to manage day-to-day inventory control and material flow of equipment spare parts in support of manufacturing and maintenance operations at Taylor site. This role ensures inventory accuracy, parts availability, and timely issue of spare parts while providing ground-level oversight of vendor-managed warehouse and material handling activities. The position works closely with the EQP Materials Management Leader, equipment teams, and warehouse operations to support operational KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Manage day-to-day spare parts inventory control activities in support of fab equipment maintenance and manufacturing operations at the T1 Parts warehouse building.

  • Support receiving, storing, issuing, and staging of equipment spare parts to ensure accurate inventory records and timely availability for end users. Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, discrepancy investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Utilize ERP and other Samsung inventory management systems to track spare parts inventory, movements, consumption, and adjustments.

  • Monitor inventory levels against target min/max and days-of-supply requirements; identify shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving or obsolete parts.

  • Provide day-to-day, ground-level oversight of vendor-managed warehouse and material handling activities related to spare parts, ensuring adherence to SOPs, safety requirements, and expected service levels. Monitor vendor performance against established operational KPIs and daily execution expectations; identify gaps, document issues, and escalate non-conformance to the EQP Materials Management Leader as appropriate.

  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and performance reports to support operational KPIs and decision-making. Monitor material movement from receipt to issuance; investigate and resolve missing, damaged, or mis-located spare parts in coordination with vendor partners.

  • Provide execution-level support for logistics operations related to spare parts, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and handling requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including procurement, engineering, operations, and finance to support material requirements for manufacturing and R&D. Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities within spare parts inventory control and warehouse workflows. Support and execute continuous improvement and lean initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, reduce excess inventory, and streamline material flow.

  • Exercise independent judgment when managing inventory exceptions, urgent requests, or ambiguous situations, escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Support handling and delivery of specialized or high-value spare parts. Participate in cross-functional task forces and improvement initiatives as a spare parts inventory subject matter expert.

  • Perform self-driven project work to address inventory control gaps and execute improvements within defined timelines. Other responsibilities as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or Business related field required.

  • Minimum of 3 years in Supply Chain with at least one year in inventory and supply chain management.

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP a plus.

  • Experience with Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) or international logistics strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

  • Skilled in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • SQL, Python, or R-preferred. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills; effective communication.

  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data and provide issue resolution to closure.

  • Highly detail-oriented; delivers products as promised.

  • Ability to influence up, down, and across the organization.
