Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests and provide friendly, clear directions as they arrive.
  • Direct vehicles into designated parking areas in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Maximize available parking space by guiding drivers into properly spaced rows.
  • Monitor parking lots, entrances, exits, roadways, and pedestrian crossings.
  • Assist guests crossing at designated crosswalks and high-traffic areas.
  • Stop pedestrian traffic when necessary to allow vehicles, tractors, hayrides, trains, or other farm equipment to pass safely.
  • Maintain a safe distance from moving vehicles and remain visible to drivers and pedestrians.
  • Use approved hand signals, safety equipment, and traffic-control procedures.
  • Communicate with other attendants and management by radio regarding parking availability, traffic concerns, guest needs, and unsafe conditions.
  • Help keep fire lanes, emergency access routes, driveways, and operational areas clear.
  • Provide guests with directions to Admissions, accessible parking, overflow parking, exits, and other farm locations.
  • Assist guests who need additional time or support entering or leaving the property.
  • Remain calm, courteous, and professional when interacting with drivers or guests who may be confused, frustrated, or impatient.
  • Immediately report accidents, injuries, suspicious activity, or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Assist with cones, signs, barricades, radios, safety vests, and other equipment at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Perform other parking, crossing, safety, and customer-service duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is performed outdoors in varying fall weather conditions, including sun, rain, wind, heat, and cold.
  • Employees may be working near moving vehicles, tractors, wagons, and farm equipment.
  • The role requires standing and walking for extended periods on pavement, grass, gravel, and uneven terrain.
  • Weekend shifts may be busy, fast-paced, and physically demanding.
  • Employees must wear required high-visibility clothing and use assigned safety equipment.
