Carpet Cleaning Specialist – Job Description

As a member of the Sparkle Team, the Carpet Cleaning Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of casino carpets and assigned public areas. This role combines specialized carpet care with general Sparkle Team responsibilities to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy-duty carpet extraction equipment and encapsulation upright or ride-on machines safely and effectively.
  • Perform spot cleaning and stain removal on casino carpets, ensuring high standards of appearance are maintained.
  • Complete assigned Sparkle Team duties, including general cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Work independently in assigned sections with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain assigned areas in a clean, organized, and presentable condition at all times.
  • Clean and service one or more restrooms, ensuring they remain sanitary, stocked, and free of debris.
  • Follow all departmental procedures, safety guidelines, and supervisor instructions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience operating commercial carpet cleaning equipment, including extractors and encapsulation machines, preferred.
  • Knowledge of carpet spotting techniques and stain removal procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to maintain productivity with limited supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver heavy cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach frequently throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
  • Casino environment with exposure to noise, crowds, and varying temperatures.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Previous carpet cleaning experience is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with team members, guests, and management at all levels.
  • Must be able to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
