Job description

On behalf of our client, we are conducting a search for RampsRVA's next Managing Director. As part of the community for over 15 years, RampsRVA is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization with a mission to help the less fortunate by paying for and assembling modular wheelchair ramps for those people who are in need and have qualified for financial assistance in the Richmond area. The full-time hands-on Managing Director will set strategy, provide volunteer oversight, and supervise one or two part-time administrative support staff. Reports to the board of directors. Summary of Job Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Lead the organization's reach its yearly goals and fulfill its mission.
  • Manage the annual budget and find opportunities for the organization to grow.
  • Create new partnerships and maintain strong relationships with foundations, companies, healthcare groups, government agencies, donors, media, and RampsRVA alumni.
  • Develop and manage marketing strategies.
  • Lead the organization's fundraising efforts.
  • Oversee daily administrative operations.
  • Keep open and clear communication with staff and board members.
  • Support the organization's positive reputation and brand.
  • Other tasks as needed to help the organization succeed.

Key Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree is highly preferred, but we will also consider a mix of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum three years of management experience in a nonprofit setting.
  • Help at ramp build sites as needed to support the organization's mission.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with WordPress is a plus.
  • Experience in community engagement, human services, or public relations (especially with the public and the media) is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable fundraising and donor management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, such as planning, delegating, developing programs, managing budgets, and facilitating tasks.
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Typical Monday to Friday day work hours plus possible evenings and weekends for community outreach. A flexible schedule and hybrid work location (office, field and home) is available.
  • Maintain current Virginia driver's license and clear DMV record.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment background screening.

Compensation - $60k's to $70k's commensurate with experience and credentials.
