Job description

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Days (Flexible 8-hour shift between 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM) | 80 Hours per 2-Week Pay Period
Call/Weekend Requirements: No Weekends | No On-Call

Position Summary:
An outpatient clinic in the Brooklyn Center, MN area is seeking a full-time, permanent Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role focuses on managing patient flow and providing collaborative, supportive care to patients across all lifespans (infants, pediatric, adult, and geriatric).

Core Responsibilities & Clinical Scope:
  • Patient Flow & Rooming: Conduct standardized rooming processes, take vital signs, and prepare patients for provider exams.
  • Medication & Lab Administration: Administer immunizations, injections, and prescribed medications under provider direction. Perform laboratory specimen collection and routine clinic lab tests.
  • Clinical & Administrative Support:
    • Perform phlebotomy procedures.
    • Assist with prescription refill requests and prior authorizations.
    • Provide telephone support and facilitate patient-provider communication.
    • Support front desk check-in and assist with clinic supply ordering/stocking.
    • Optional: Perform basic X-ray duties if the candidate has passed the X-ray Operator Exam.

Candidate Submission & Qualification Requirements:
For Medical Assistant (CMA) Candidates:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent [REQUIRED].
  • Program Accreditation: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (ABHES or CAAHEP accredited) OR graduate of a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) program accredited by a national health organization (AMT) with on-the-job experience and a passing RMA exam score [REQUIRED].
  • Certifications: Active AHA BLS Certification [REQUIRED].

For Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Candidates:
  • Licensure: Active Minnesota LPN License verified via NURSYS at submission [REQUIRED].
  • Certifications: Active AHA BLS Certification [REQUIRED].
  • Salary Range: $24.50/hr – $32.77/hr (based on experience).
