Job description

FINN's Honolulu office is looking for an Airport Survey Interviewer to join our Research team!
If you are an outgoing, dependable, go-getter with strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and a respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, we want to hear from you!
As an Airport Survey Interviewer, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international business, customer service, and market research within a dynamic global travel environment.
No prior experience is required - training is provided.
In this role you will be asked to:
  • Approach visitors in designated waiting areas of Honolulu International Airport, inviting participation in a survey about their experience in Hawaii.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all responses.
  • Follow project protocols and sampling guidelines to achieve survey targets.
  • Report on field conditions and respondent feedback to supervisors.
To be considered as a solid candidate, you'll need:
  • A High School diploma
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and be comfortable approaching and engaging with travelers from diverse backgrounds.
  • To be punctual and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • To focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness when recording survey responses.
  • Professionalism in following protocols, schedules, and airport security requirements.
  • The ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work effectively in a busy airport environment.
  • A basic proficiency with iPads or other digital devices for survey administration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset when facing unexpected challenges in the field.
  • To successfully complete a background check to secure a sterile area badge and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seal for airport gate access.
You get bonus points if you have multilingual skills, but they're not necessary to do this job well.
Location
Work is conducted primarily within gate areas at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. The role requires standing and walking for the majority of each shift, as well as frequent interaction with travelers in busy public spaces. The physical environment may involve crowded conditions, background noise, and variable temperatures depending on terminal locations. Interviewers must comply with all airport security protocols and may be required to pass through TSA checkpoints.
Shifts are typically scheduled on weekdays, approximately five days per month, with each shift lasting 4-5 hours.
