Job description

This is Adyen
Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.
For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.
The Role
Adyen is looking for a hands-on and proactive HR Business Partner to support our growing New York office. In this role, you will be the primary HR point of contact for local leadership and the "eyes and ears" on the ground.
You will act as a trusted advisor across the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring our New York teams are supported, engaged, and aligned with the Adyen Formula. This role is perfect for someone who loves to "connect the dots", bridging the gap between global HR initiatives and local execution while navigating the day-to-day needs of a fast-paced office.
This role is based in New York and works in close collaboration with the North America and Global People teams.
What you'll do:
  • Act as the go-to HR partner for New York Team Leads and Managers, providing coaching on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and people leadership.
  • "Connect the dots" across different functions in the NY office to ensure office-wide engagement, and a strong sense of community.
  • Drive local execution of performance management, enabling managers to have high-quality growth conversations and effective feedback loops.
  • Provide support for employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and a healthy work environment.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Expertise and the wider NA HRBP team to implement people initiatives that fit the New York context.
  • Use local people data to identify trends, anticipate challenges, and suggest improvements to the local employee experience.

Who you are:
  • 3+ years of HRBP experience, ideally in a fast-paced tech or high-growth environment.
  • You naturally build relationships across all levels and departments; you enjoy being visible and accessible in the office.
  • You are comfortable jumping from a high-level talent discussion to a practical day-to-day HR task without missing a beat.
  • You have a proven ability to coach first-time managers and Team Leads through the complexities of leading people.
  • You have a "builder" mindset and look for ways to simplify processes rather than just following a handbook.
  • You can articulate fact-based solutions clearly and handle sensitive conversations with high emotional intelligence.

The annual base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $195,000; to learn more about our compensation philosophy, please click here.
Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments
Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. No matter who you are or where you're from, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.
Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does this sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application!
What's next?
Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable candidate experience is critical for us. We aim to get back to you regarding your application within 5 business days. Our interview process tends to take about 4 weeks to complete, but may fluctuate depending on the role. Learn more about our hiring process here. Don't be afraid to let us know if you need more flexibility.
Adyen is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status or any legally protected status.
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
This role is based out of our NYC office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
