Job description

Are you an SEO professional who enjoys solving technical challenges, uncovering insights in data, and helping organizations improve their visibility in search?

Interactive Strategies, a leading digital agency in Washington, DC, is seeking an SEO & Web Analytics Manager to join our Data Insights team. This is a hands-on role focused on technical SEO, analytics reporting, optimization research, and performance analysis across a portfolio of client accounts.

This role begins with a strong emphasis on technical SEO, reporting, site audits, and optimization support. As the search landscape continues to evolve, successful candidates will have opportunities to contribute to broader SEO strategy, AI search visibility, and LLM optimization initiatives.

While familiarity with other digital marketing channels is valuable, this is not a multi-channel campaign management role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in the details of search performance, website optimization, and analytics.

You will report to our Associate Director of Optimization and work closely with our Associate Director of Data and Analytics. This role is ideal for someone who wants to deepen their expertise in both SEO and analytics while contributing meaningfully to a collaborative, client-focused team.
Responsibilities

Technical SEO & Analytics

  • Analyze website crawlability, indexation, site health, and technical SEO performance, identifying issues and opportunities related to crawling, indexing, redirects, canonicals, sitemaps, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and site architecture.
  • Investigate technical issues and performance trends using industry-standard SEO and analytics platforms, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Pull, QA, and interpret performance data from GA4, Google Search Console, and Data Studio.
  • Build and maintain dashboards from established templates and validate data accuracy.
  • Support quarterly performance reporting and independently manage reporting needs for select client accounts.
  • Validate tracking consistency and data flow across analytics, paid media, and CRM platforms.
  • Support data quality reviews and tracking initiatives using Google Tag Manager and related tools.

SEO Research & Optimization

  • Conduct keyword research and organize findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Complete competitive keyword gap analyses and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Perform content inventories and audits to identify content gaps, duplication, and structural improvements.
  • Support on-page SEO efforts including titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, and content recommendations.
  • Collaborate with content, UX, strategy, and development teams to implement optimization recommendations.

Emerging Search & AI

  • Contribute to AI search and LLM visibility initiatives as this discipline continues to evolve.
  • Utilize AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to support research, analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience with demonstrated technical SEO capabilities.
  • Experience investigating crawlability, indexing, site health, and technical SEO issues across medium to large websites.
  • Experience investigating crawlability, indexing, site health, and technical SEO issues across medium to large websites, including canonicals, redirects, robots.txt, sitemaps, structured data, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Strong working knowledge of SEO auditing and analytics platforms such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar tools.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or QA-ing dashboards and reporting outputs.
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager and event tracking concepts.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel.
  • Experience working within CMS platforms such as WordPress or Drupal.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with content, development, design, and marketing teams.

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with AI search, LLM visibility, or emerging search measurement tools.
  • Experience with paid media, social media, or other digital marketing channels.
  • Exposure to CRO, experimentation, or A/B testing programs.
  • Experience using heatmapping or behavioral analytics tools.

Qualities you bring to the table:

  • Analytical. You enjoy digging into data, identifying patterns, and solving problems.
  • Curious. You continuously seek to understand how search and technology are evolving.
  • Detail-Oriented. You take pride in accurate reporting and thorough analysis.
  • Collaborative. You work effectively across disciplines and value team success.
  • Communicative. You can clearly explain findings and recommendations to a variety of audiences.
  • Adaptable. You are comfortable learning new tools and navigating an evolving search landscape.
