Scope of the Role

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day distribution center operations including but not limited to schedule/shift management, direct to consumer shipments, receiving of overseas shipping containers, product slotting, space utilization, equipment, and manpower. Additionally, this position includes people management training skills and responsibilities including but not limited to hiring and training, planning, and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. The ideal candidate will assist with process improvement, crafting process and procedures, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

 

Reporting Structure

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is a member of the Fulfillment Center Team and reports to the Fulfillment Center General Manager. This position also partners with cross-functional team members and leaders across the organization.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire warehouse process from start to end of shift. 
  • Supervises the warehouse operation from unloading of inbound shipment to picking and staging of outbound shipment. 
  • Lead and supervise warehouse associates. 
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. 
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment. 
  • Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed daily. 
  • Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation. 
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. 
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety in accordance with OSHA standards. 
  • Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. 
  • Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories. 
  • Assist with creating, implementing, and updating policies, procedures and SOP’s and ensure enforcement the SOP are being follow. 
  • Support the warehouse Key Performance Metrics (KPI). 
  • Maintains physical warehouse conditions by forecasting storage and processing needs and planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, and issuing repair and replacement requisitions. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications & Required Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum 3+ years required experience in a similar role within the manufacturing, production, or distribution environments. 
  • Minimum 2+ years required experience in supervisory role. 
  • Required experience in WMS tools in an automated warehouse environment (HighJump, Manhattan, JDA, a plus). 
  • Strong experience in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). 
  • Required experience with performance metrics, process improvement and lean techniques. 
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written. 
  • Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills. 
  • Labor Management and Quality Management experience strongly preferred. 
  • Proven experience with continuous improvement and fundamental understanding of change management. 
  • Ability to stand on feet frequently for long periods of time and walk the fulfillment center and around area (10–12-hour shifts may be needed per the business needs). 
  • Ability to work in warehouse environment with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including nights and weekends. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
