This leader will own talent acquisition and broader talent strategy, partnering closely with founders and executive leadership to attract, assess, and retain exceptional talent across technical and commercial functions. The role requires a highly hands-on operator who views recruiting as a strategic advantage and can build high-signal talent systems without introducing unnecessary process or bureaucracy.

Talent Acquisition & Executive Recruiting


  • Lead end-to-end recruiting across technical, product, GTM, and leadership functions
  • Develop compelling talent narratives that differentiate the company in highly competitive hiring markets
  • Build and maintain deep pipelines of passive candidates through highly personalized outreach and relationship development
  • Partner closely with leadership to define hiring standards and maintain a consistently high talent bar


Recruiting Infrastructure & Process Design


  • Build recruiting systems, workflows, and interview processes from the ground up
  • Implement scalable recruiting operations, analytics, and candidate tracking processes
  • Establish a high-quality, consistent candidate experience across all stages of the hiring process
  • Introduce lightweight systems that improve speed, quality, and decision-making without adding unnecessary complexity


Talent Strategy & Organizational Partnership


  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on talent market trends, compensation, and hiring strategy
  • Support performance management, retention, and talent development initiatives
  • Build frameworks that help leaders assess, coach, and develop high-performing teams
  • Partner cross-functionally to align hiring strategy with broader business objectives


Team Leadership & External Partnerships


  • Build and scale an internal recruiting capability over time
  • Manage and rationalize external search and staffing partnerships
  • Establish clear standards, accountability, and quality expectations across all recruiting channels
  • Operate as a player-coach, balancing direct recruiting execution with team leadership responsibilities


Qualifications & Experience


  • Significant recruiting or talent leadership experience within high-growth technology environments
  • Background in executive search, leadership recruiting, or highly consultative talent environments
  • Proven track record hiring exceptional technical and commercial talent in highly competitive markets
  • Experience building recruiting infrastructure and talent systems from early or underdeveloped stages
  • Strong sourcing, assessment, and candidate closing capabilities across senior and hard-to-fill roles
  • Experience operating in founder-led, fast-paced, or scaling organizations
  • Deep understanding of modern recruiting tools, workflows, and talent analytics
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence founders, executives, and hiring managers
  • AI-fluent mindset with the ability to assess adaptability and learning orientation in candidates
  • Builder mentality with a low-ego, highly accountable operating style
  • Ability to work in-person in the San Francisco Bay Area and operate closely with leadership
