Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Position Summary

The Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing is a key executive responsible for developing and executing the global commercial strategy for Pivotal Systems. This leader will drive revenue growth, increase market share, strengthen customer relationships, and expand the company's presence within the semiconductor capital equipment industry.

The SVP will oversee worldwide sales, strategic marketing, business development, product marketing, applications support, and customer engagement while working closely with Engineering, Operations, Product Management, and Executive Leadership to align commercial objectives with the company's technology roadmap.

The ideal candidate is an experienced executive with deep knowledge of semiconductor equipment, process control, gas flow control, precision instrumentation, or related capital equipment technologies and a proven record of building high-performing global sales organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's global sales and marketing strategy.
  • Establish annual revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and geographic expansion initiatives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to define long-term business strategy.
  • Develop pricing strategies and commercial models to maximize profitability.
  • Lead mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances, and channel development initiatives when appropriate.

Sales Leadership

  • Lead global direct and indirect sales organizations.
  • Build strong executive relationships with strategic semiconductor customers including:
    • Integrated Device Manufacturers (IDMs)
    • Foundries
    • OEM Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturers
  • Drive customer acquisition while expanding existing strategic accounts.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and pipeline management processes.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure commercial success.
  • Coach and mentor regional sales leaders across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Negotiate high-value commercial agreements and long-term supply contracts.

Marketing Leadership

  • Develop the company's global marketing strategy.
  • Lead product positioning and value proposition development.
  • Direct digital marketing, branding, trade shows, public relations, and industry communications.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to launch new technologies.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and market analysis.
  • Increase brand recognition within the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

Business Development

  • Develop strategic partnerships with OEMs and technology partners.
  • Identify emerging semiconductor technology trends.
  • Evaluate opportunities in advanced packaging, AI infrastructure, compound semiconductors, MEMS, sensors, photonics, and next-generation process technologies.
  • Support international expansion initiatives.

Customer Engagement

  • Build executive relationships with major semiconductor manufacturers.
  • Represent the company during executive business reviews.
  • Resolve complex commercial issues with strategic customers.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and long-term account growth.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Engineering and Product Development to align customer requirements with product roadmaps.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve delivery performance and customer responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, pricing, and revenue planning.
  • Support investor presentations and Board reporting.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline required.
  • MBA strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Minimum 10 years leading global commercial organizations.
  • Executive leadership experience within the semiconductor equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, precision instrumentation, process control, vacuum technology, gas delivery systems, or related high-technology industries.
  • Demonstrated success managing global sales teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Proven experience negotiating multimillion-dollar commercial agreements.
  • Experience supporting publicly traded or high-growth technology companies is preferred.
