Description

Title/Role:  Vice President, Programs  

Department:  Executive Leadership

Reports to:  Chief Executive Officer


Duties and Responsibilities  

  1. Execute all programs within contractual requirements to ensure that the project cost, schedule, and technical performance goals are met or exceeded
  2. Utilizing Earned Value Management, review and report program financial and schedule status frequently
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to drive repeat business
  4. Manage program budget forecasting, resource planning, and financial performance tracking
  5. Identify opportunities to improve profit margins for individual programs and/or processes throughout the organization
  6. Lead and mentor a team of program managers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence
  7. Collaborate with sales, finance, engineering, planning, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to deliver programs on schedule and within budget[IJ1] 
  8. Define and execute a long-term strategic vision for program management, including technology roadmaps and market positioning.[IJ2] 
  9. Drive business development initiatives, including identifying new market opportunities and crafting competitive proposals
  10. Ensure compliance with government contracting requirements, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks (AS9100, FAA, DoD)

Requirements

  1. Minimum 15 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry
  2. 7-10 years in senior leadership roles managing multi-year aerospace programs exceeding $10M in annual revenue
  3. Track record of successfully overseeing programs with budgets above $25M
  4. BS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical) or Business from an accredited university
  5. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  6. Cost accounting or financial analysis experience preferred
  7. Direct experience with military aerospace programs preferred

Work Environment Requirements:

  1. Office, warehouse, and manufacturing environment
  2. Moderate travel may be required to meet with clients, oversee programs, and support business development activities
